Our sister agency Humankind co-founder, Dan Thomas, has shared his thoughts on how we can overcome the “techlash” by focusing back on company purpose and putting people first.

Trust in Big Tech is diminishing. Headlines around bad employment practices, consumer data misuse and a reluctance to take responsibility for the problems that their technologies had unintentionally created - such as cyberbullying and fake news -  only perpetuated this “techlash”.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. If the pandemic has taught us anything it’s that, tech can do good. The pandemic has re-emphasised technology isn’t just a “nice to have”, it now plays a defining role in the world. Hunkered down in our homes during lockdown, technology has been a lifesaver. It’s helped us receive medical advice, buy the shopping we need, stay connected with loved ones and work remotely.
